Thach Bao Trai is a temple with a unique architecture, located in the middle of the Yangtze River - the longest river in Asia, in the city of Chongqing, China. The work was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

After that, this place underwent two overhaul in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), formed under the reign of King Qianlong in the 18th century. Thus, up to now the work has gone through hundreds of years of history.

At that time, wanting to visit, people only had to follow the iron noose to climb. By 1819, when the 9-storey tower building was built, visitors from all over the world did not need to take the risk as before, but could perform spiritual rituals right here.

In 1956, the temple was built 3 more floors, a total of 12 floors. In which, each floor worships a famous general in the Three Kingdoms period or a famous poet and scholar of China. The campus inside is also more open and dignified to welcome visitors to visit.

According to legend, in the past, there was a beautiful fairy named Nuwo who accidentally dropped a stone when she was helping to paint the sky. Later, that stone created a majestic mountain area, also where Thach Bao Trai temple is located.

In addition to standing in the middle of the river for hundreds of years, what makes people have to mention Thach Bao Trai temple the most is the unique architecture that few places have. Although the building is high-rise but does not use any nails or supports to connect, all are still standing.

The total height of the tower is up to 56 m, with red tones being the main color, made entirely of wood. Looking down from above, the project is connected to the bank by a bridge, so it looks like a giant bonsai tree in the fast flowing river.

Through many ups and downs of history and years, up to now, Thach Bao Trai Temple has become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Chongqing city.
