For 2 years of his life, he was locked in a narrow cage and his body gradually deformed, so did his dreams and hopes.
Because the cage was too small, Landis had to slouch to stay in it . Maintaining an awkward position for so long caused his body to become smaller and deformed as he couldn’t grow properly.

Fortunately, Landis’s life would not be sad forever, a shelter in Georgia, Atlanta, released him from his cage so he could start over and find a home. They took him to an animal hospital for evaluation, hoping something could be done for his hunched body and flat feet.
Landis remained at the shelter while he was treated for his multiple physical and emotional injuries . Although shelters can be stressful environments for many dogs, it was heaven for Landis, compared to his previous torturous life.
However, Landis needed more support than he could get in Atlanta, so the shelter contacted Second Chance Rescue in New York City for more help and he was flown there for medical treatment.
In addition, the puppy underwent a large number of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions to help straighten his body, always remaining full of joy and optimism.
Despite everything he’s been through, Landis didn’t stop being sweet, he loved receiving attention and love from everyone around him.
“Poor little dog, he deserves the best of homes so he can forget about everything he ‘s been through . I hope someone puts their former humans in a small cage,” said one netizen.
Landis was getting back to health, and when he least expected it, the best of news came: he found a loving home with a warm family near Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
