Travel Italy: Elba Island with the imprint of the daring escape of Napoleon

Elba is an island in the Mediterranean, off the west coast and is Italy’s third largest island after Sicily, Sardegna.

Elba Island has a "mysterious" history because it was once the place where French Emperor Napoleon was exiled from April 11, 1814. In March 1815 Napoleon made a daring escape at night, returning to Paris to rebuild his fortunes (but lasted only for a brief period known as the "100-day period").

Today Elba Island is a leading Italian summer vacation destination, relaxing Italian tours, with the attraction of prominent clear blue-water beaches on fine sand, "hidden" coves. exotic and idyllic coastal towns with a special charm.
